Transformational Technology for the Offshore Oil & Gas Market

H2Oil & Gas Ltd is pleased to announce the award of a patent covering their REDft process. This suite of innovative technologies is designed to significantly reduce the space, weight and environmental impact of offshore water treatment packages for Enhanced Oil Recovery.

REDft® (pronounced 'red foot', an abbreviation of the term Reduced Footprint) utilizes tried and tested membrane technology and reconfigures it in a more compact innovative package.

The technologies offer the specialist offshore Enhanced Oil Recovery Market CapEx and OpEx cost savings in the range of 15 to 30% and are equally applicable to the Industrial and Municipal Desalinations markets.

Scott Barrie, Managing Director of H2Oil & Gas said, "We are delighted that the unique and innovative aspects of our REDft technologies have been recognised. The benefits that REDft technologies provide are particularly suited to the new era of specialist water floods and chemical enhanced oil recovery and we look forward to playing our part in making marginal wells viable.

“We are also very excited about the prospect of offering the benefits of REDft to the wider industrial and municipal desalination markets through strategic partnership.

“This award is recognition of the Company's ethos to bring the highest quality of innovative engineering solutions to the specialist water treatment market. In addition it upholds the Company's social and economic commitment to protecting the environment and reducing its carbon footprint."

REDft technology houses UF/MF membranes in the same pressure housing as RO/NF membranes to significantly reduce overall weight and space while retaining the ability to clean both membrane sets online.

Derivative technologies include compact ultrafiltration units for filtration of seawater prior to injection into the reservoir and a unique RO/NF membrane housing that reduces piping requirements and simplifies membrane installation.
