2014

BAAR, Switzerland, 22 December, 2014 – Aquarion Group (Aquarion AG), a leading provider of advanced water systems, solutions and technologies for the oil & gas industry, the energy sector and other process industries, follows its acquisition of S-Tec from SH+E Group with a re-launch of the company as an independent entity with a new and totally flexible capability for the design and manufacturing of water treatment plants and services.

Aquarion acquired the assets of S-Tec from SH+E Group earlier this year.  S-Tec GmbH is now a standalone company based in Germany that specializes in modular water treatment plant construction. Called ModufleX, S-Tec’s new business model separates all elements of work required for plant construction into separate, self-contained modules. Clients can source as many (or as few) of the modules as they wish from S-Tec GmbH.

This new business model has already proven successful. Within three months of being part of Aquarion, S-Tec GmbH returned to profitability and has built a strong order book. Plans are now being considered to expand its current, 2,250 square meter production facilities located near Dresden, Germany.

All 40 jobs at the company were preserved as part of the acquisition by Aquarion.

“S-Tec GmbH is poised for continued growth with its new and successful business model, strong financial position and highly skilled staff, which we are pleased to have retained,” said Karl Michael Millauer, Chief Executive Officer of Aquarion Group.

STUTTGART, GERMANY, November, 2014 – Only three months after its acquisition by Aquarion AG, a leading global water treatment company based in Switzerland, the German water treatment specialist Hager + Elsässer (H+E GmbH) has received total order income of 22,900,000 Euro. This result already exceeds its goal for 2014, with two more months to go.

“We are delighted to report that we have already surpassed our expected order intake targets for 2014. For more than 80 years, H+E has been one of Europe’s most important water treatment companies with a proven track record of leadership and innovation, despite financial issues associated with our previous ownership. The acquisition by Aquarion in July 2014 and corresponding increase in capital is a clear sign of confidence from our investors that has not only enabled us to regain our former strength but, perhaps more importantly, recapture the confidence of customers throughout our market area and achieve further growth. A special thank you needs to be said to our loyal customers who have been supporting us all the way and continue to do so, with many exciting new projects already awarded or in the queue,” said Thomas Will, Chief Executive Officer of H+E GmbH.

BAAR, Switzerland, 16 September, 2014 – Aquarion Group (Aquarion AG), a global water treatment solutions provider, has added the Toveko® Continuous Gravity Fed Sand Filter to the portfolio of technologies offered by its group companies to customers around the world.

“As a major company in the global water treatment industry, Aquarion Group is committed to providing leading-edge water and wastewater treatment technologies. Toveko Sand Filters, which were initially provided only through Hager + Elsaesser, now increase the range of options available through all our group companies,” said Karl Michael Millauer, CEO of Aquarion Group.

Toveko filters are highly efficient for treating wastewater from industrial and small municipal sources. Typical applications include tertiary filtration of wastewater (industrial and municipal), filtration of river water, removal of suspended solids in cooling tower recycling loops, and removal of residual oil prior to wastewater discharge.

With their unique design, the filters offer an array of advantages over conventional sand filters. Toveko filters do not require the large backwash water tanks associated with conventional sand filters. This feature along with the unit’s rectangular construction and low unit height of only 2.3 metres means that the space requirement is less than other options, and they can fit inside standard height buildings when required.

The Toveko filter’s unique design also results in a lower wash water requirement – typically only 3-5% of feed flow going into the filter.

BAAR, Switzerland, March 17, 2014 – Aquarion Group, a global water treatment solutions provider, introduces ZLD-ECO, an advanced hybrid Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system that further optimizes the ZLD process.

ZLD-ECO utilizes innovative, proprietary pre-treatment processes to reduce thermal treatment, resulting in lower energy and chemical consumption and reduced capital cost.  ZLD-ECO lowers energy consumption by capturing and reusing the waste energy and recycling it for application in other process steps. This energy return optimizes flux rates with respect to membrane technologies.

ZLD-ECO provides high recovery rates of 90-99 percent, depending on the source water.

Aquarion is pleased to introduce ZLD-ECO, which expands the range of zero liquid discharge technologies in our portfolio. The term ‘ECO’ emphasizes the highly economical aspects of this system. We believe that, with its lower CAPEX and OPEX, ZLD-ECO is the lowest cost technology available to achieve zero liquid discharge,” said Karl Michael Millauer, Chief Executive Officer of Aquarion Group.
